Classes are open to men and women of all ages. No experience is necessary. All sessions will have instructional time before practicing core moves. Black Box Theater inside Donald W Reynolds Library. No registration is required. Classes made possible through a Health Literacy Grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries &Institute of Museum & Library Sciences.
Classes led by Amy Cook, IVDan of Red River Taekwon-Do. Amy has more than 1,600 hours’ experience teaching Taekwon-Do classes and self-defense seminars. A student of eighth-degree blackbelt and Taekwon-Do Hall of Fame member Master Steve Blakeley, she founded Red River Taekwon-Do in late 2002. Amy’s students range from white belt to II Dan, and she has raised six students to the rank of black belt. She has taught “CommonSense for Self Defense” seminars/classes for 40+ organizations and groups, including Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Choctaw Nation, City ofDurant, Staff One HR, Big Five, Body Business, Community Christian Church, and Durant High School.
